James Kelly - For Whom The Farm League Field Is Dedicated (May 1952)

Welcome to the Farm League section of the Central City Little League Website.  The Farm League (or Minor League) program contains players who are aged 7-12.  It is made up of a majority of 7, 8, and 9 year old players.  Farm League games are played on the James Kelly Minor League Training and Development Field.  Games are played Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  The goal of the Farm League program is to prepare the players for the Little League (Majors Division) experience.  They build upon the skills they learned in T-Ball.  The regular season games are used as "practice" games, and the overall winner is determined by the Jeffrey Culkin Memorial Tournament held at the conclusion of the season.  This league utilizes a pitching machine, to cut down on the number of inconsistencies seen using kid or coach pitch.
